Our friends at the Austin Steam Train Association had reached the end of the line with their old website vendor and were working on a tight schedule to launch a new site before the end of their contract.
So, we got up a head of steam and fast-tracked a custom WordPress design by prototyping in-browser to create a fun, family-friendly site that celebrates the history of ASTA’s train cars while also putting their events front and center for their visitors.
It’s got all the bells and whistles, including integration with Whistletix, a ticket vendor that caters specifically to train attractions. We used iframes to embed panels for the calendar, event lists, and individual event pages, and we added an RSS feed to style individual event posts for the home page. All aboard!
