They contacted us because they wanted an accessible, fast-loading website, without sacrificing their fun retro fruit stand vibe. We developed their new website using the Blocksy theme, and put the site through accessibility and speed test checkers to ensure it was both fast and easy to use for people of all abilities. Often, in order to ensure accessibility and speed, sites are stripped of imagery and functionality, but that’s not the case here: we included a custom-coded ticker on the homepage to show off the organization’s annual impact, and added a great timeline plugin to tell the story of Food Forward through short vignettes and photographs.

On the backend, we added custom post types (like “People,” where all of the Food Forward team members are displayed) to ease editing, and installed the Yoast SEO plugin to give the team granular control over SEO metadata.

The end result is a really fun site with incredible imagery and functionality that makes maintenance a breeze.
