Aspen Words programs seek to provide readers and writers with opportunities to learn, read, and write with each other, cultivating a stronger writers’ community in Aspen, Colorado. We’re excited to help them reach as many writers and readers as possible and continue their work.
Our focus during their retainer has always been on providing the Aspen Words team the tools they need to better navigate and take care of their site, empowering them to make regular and frequent updates to reflect current and upcoming events within their organization. One of the major accomplishments regarding this was creating multiple page templates to help expedite the process of creating new webpages and events, lowering the amount of time they have to spend creating pages from scratch and ensuring a standard user experience from page to page.
In our retainer so far, we’ve made specific webpage layout and usability improvements on the Aspen Words Literary Prize, Aspen Writer’s Network events calendar, and Summer Words key program pages helped to make the content on these pages more readable and easier to navigate.
For our work with Aspen Words, we’re working within a limited 5 hour retainer, but dedicated to making the most of it, helping their team gain more confidence in tackling more complicated tasks on their website and making more of their content and technical updates internally. After our thorough audit and review process to identify areas for improvement, we focused on making carefully tailored updates to improve performance and stability of the site as well as optimize it for mobile users.
Looking ahead to the rest of our retainer and work with Aspen Words, we’ll be placing a high priority on providing valuable guidance and training sessions for their team to help them better navigate editing and adding content to their site. And we’ll be continuing to make improvements on their existing build to make the editing process more seamless and user-friendly to benefit their current and future team.
