In 2003, Patti Patton-Bader founded Soldiers’ Angels when her oldest son, Staff Sergeant Brandon Varn, was deployed in Iraq.

Her son commented that he was one of the few soldiers receiving care packages, so Patti gathered some friends and neighbors and they began sending packages to his whole platoon. Since 2004, the nonprofit has worked to provide care and services to service members, veterans, and military families.

With volunteers across America and a wide variety of creative programs, Soldiers’ Angels had a lot of content and information to provide on their website, but they had an extremely difficult time updating even basic posts using their old content management system.

We customized a content and host migration process to move their content from their old site to a new WordPress site. While we worked on their content migration, we also designed a new style tile, homepage, and page design. We then custom built their new site, making the most of WordPress’ block editor to create customized layouts and post displays, including a VA’s We Serve map to highlight opportunities listed through VolunteerMatch.org.
