Keep Our Republic (KOR) came to us with an urgent challenge: their mission is critical, but their website was not clearly communicating it. As a nonpartisan organization working to strengthen democratic norms and combat misinformation at the community level, KOR needed a website that immediately answers three essential questions for visitors: who they are, what they do, and why their work matters.
Before the redesign, staff often spent the first several minutes of donor, partner, or media conversations explaining the organization itself. Our goal was to eliminate that friction by building a website that clearly articulates KOR’s mission, establishes credibility, and positions the organization as a trusted leader in democracy protection.
Strategy, Discovery, and Content Clarity
We began with in-depth discovery and a full content audit to evaluate how the existing site supported—or obscured—KOR’s goals. Using insights from their team and audience needs, we developed a streamlined content strategy and reorganized the site’s information architecture to make KOR’s mission and expertise unmistakable.
Our team rewrote and created new content for key foundational sections of the site. This included clearly explaining KOR’s bipartisan approach, their commitment to working directly within communities, and their emphasis on education and prevention rather than partisan activism. The result is messaging that resonates with diverse audiences, including journalists, election administrators, donors, and civic leaders, helping each group quickly understand KOR’s impact and value.
Design and Development for Growth
With the content strategy in place, we moved into design and development. The new website emphasizes visual storytelling to reflect both the urgency of KOR’s mission and the organization’s growth. We replaced dense, text-heavy pages with engaging photos, videos, and event highlights that demonstrate real-world impact.
We built a mobile-responsive, component-based website designed to support frequent updates and future expansion. This flexible structure is especially important as KOR continues to grow nationally and anticipates increased visibility ahead of upcoming elections. Special attention was given to key user actions, including accessing press resources, viewing recent events, donating, and signing up for email updates.
