Let’s Create Something Extraordinary!

Why choose custom web development?
Your website should be as unique as your community. Here’s why you should choose custom web development:
1. A bespoke web application goes beyond the limitations of existing web solutions, delivering unique solutions for your community’s needs, whether that means data-driven visualizations, interactive mapping, or custom-built reservation systems.
2. A custom website is tailor made, so if your brand is of the utmost importance, custom design and development is the way to go: your site becomes an extension of your brand, reflecting its values, personality, and mission. Through custom design elements like fonts, colors, and imagery, we ensure every aspect of your site aligns with your brand for consistency and trust-building.
3. Our scalable development approach means your website is built to evolve. As your organization expands, we can easily add new features, content, and integrations, ensuring your site stays up-to-date without needing a complete rebuild.
Our Custom Web Development Process
Discovery
Our engagements are built on careful listening. We start by working with you to map out the functional and design requirements of your custom built site, determining what can be configured from pre-existing options and what needs to be coded from scratch. Then we create user stories that help to map out how real people will use your site and its features. We gather as much creative and technical information as possible to begin planning your organization’s new website.
Design
We’ll begin designing your nonprofit’s website using the information gathered in the discovery phase and any branding you have available. Here’s what that process looks like:
1. First, we start with your organization’s branding, and what you told us about your aesthetic during the discovery process. We investigate sites you like to learn more about your preferences, and we begin to develop draft design documents like style tiles and wireframes that preview our new design concept.
2. Next, we focus on the hierarchical layout to ensure that visitors can easily access the content they need.
3. Finally, we put it all together and create design mockups that give you an idea of how your finished website will look.
Development
Once we have an approved, working plan for the website, we’ll install WordPress, the most popular, powerful, and user-friendly website builder in the world. We’ll apply the nonprofit-focused WordPress theme we’ve selected, and build out the custom functionality we mapped out in the Discovery phase. We configure the WordPress backend to make it easy for you to edit content. We expertly code the site so that it’s mobile responsive, performant, and accessible for all visitors. We can also help you integrate your site with your CRM or donation management platform.
Quality Insurance
After development, our team will run a full end-to-end test on your new site, making sure the site looks good and functions properly on all browsers and screens big and small. We’ll then address any problem areas this testing uncovers to ensure the user experience is consistent and satisfying.
