A Brand-New Nonprofit Needed to Be Taken Seriously, Fast
A 30-year Human Resources veteran in Little Rock, Arkansas, founded the Alliance after seeing a similar program in the UK. When she came to Cornershop, her nonprofit paperwork was still in progress. She had no logo and no website.
That was a real barrier. She was ready to start conversations with employers, funders, and partners, and she needed a professional presence to back those conversations up.
A Ready-to-Use Logo in About Five Weeks
We started where she needed us most. Our team presented two distinct logo directions, then refined the chosen concept through several rounds of feedback. The final mark was ready in about five weeks, in time for business cards, letterhead, and LinkedIn.
Designing for HR Leaders Without Losing Sight of Employees
Next came site mapping and design. Together, we shaped a structure for the Alliance’s main audience: HR leaders and executives at mid-size and large organizations. We also kept the employees those programs serve in mind at every step.
The look and feel had a careful balance to strike. It needed to read as professional and employer-facing without feeling cold. It also needed to stay calm and sensitive without being mistaken for a crisis hotline.
A Trauma-Informed Website With a One-Click Emergency Exit
The WordPress website we built reflects that thinking in the details:
- Site-wide emergency exit: Anyone can leave the page with a single click.
- Employer resource library: Downloadable policies, checklists, and tools, with download tracking so the Alliance can see which resources land.
- FundraiseUp donations: A simple, modern way to give.
- Mailchimp email: A custom email template plus a welcome series for new subscribers.
Accessible, Fast, and Easy for a Small Team to Manage
We built the site to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and completed technical SEO work before launch. A focused push on page speed earned the site a performance score of 97 out of 100.
The Alliance’s team is small, so independence mattered. A visual page builder and a recorded training session mean staff can update content on their own.
Winning a Google Ad Grant Through Persistence
Our support didn’t stop at the website. We managed the Alliance’s Google Ad Grant from start to finish, including the application, keyword research, and draft ad copy.
When the first application didn’t go through, we stayed with it. We worked through the appeals process until the grant was approved and the ads went live. For a young organization with limited funds, that grant means free search advertising that puts the Alliance’s resources in front of the employers who need them.
Three New Members Since Launch, and Growing
The site launched in September 2026, giving the Alliance a polished, credible home just as it begins outreach to employers and funders. In the short time since, it has welcomed three new members.
The partnership is still growing. The Alliance came back to Cornershop to design membership and Safe Place Workplace accreditation badges, an early step toward a tiered membership program planned for the next phase. We’re proud to help a founder-led organization turn a deeply personal mission into a resource that can make workplaces safer.
Employers Against Domestic Abuse Alliance is a nonprofit that equips employers with the policies, training, and guidance they need to support employees affected by domestic abuse.
