Fueling Growth for the Oblates of the Virgin Mary With Multi-Channel Marketing

Through our years-long work with the Oblates of the Virgin Mary (OMV), we’ve melded our approach to marketing work. Our multi-channel digital marketing approach now includes content strategy and development, social media marketing, and managing their Google Ad Grant account, to support their needs throughout the year and move the needle on organizational goals. Last year we increased our retainer with them from 50 to 70 hours per month, giving us more time to dedicate to their work, especially on targeted web development and facilitating their customer relationship management system (CRM) to DonorPerfect.

Our partnership has expanded to include a range of marketing work, strategy development, and implementation that we coordinate and shift to meet OMV’s priorities as annual and smaller one-off campaigns occur including:

Over this past year we’ve had the opportunity to improve and expand upon their social media strategy in particular, working collaboratively with OMV’s new videographer to create and utilize new custom video content that has done wonders to strengthen their social media content and presence, and has helped us strengthen a comprehensive, multi-channel digital marketing approach.

Recently, we built a custom API integration between MailChimp and Givecloud to automate their email messaging to constituents who purchased or donated to participate in spiritual workshops, taking advantage of their current email list to promote other programs they might be interested in, effectively developing a mid funnel experience.

For complex campaigns, like their annual Gala, the Lenten season, Advent, and their Annual Appeal, we executed multi-channel promotional efforts to target and engage their audience, often juggling multiple campaigns at once. Through the creation and updates to landing pages, email campaigns, social media posts, and paid and grant ads, we worked to exceed the goal of their most recent Gala, resulting in an incredible amount of donations that exceeded their fundraising goal of $500,00.

This year is a Jubilee year in the Catholic Church, an event that occurs only once every 25 years and is a time for Catholics to strengthen their faith. The St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine in Boston was chosen as a designated pilgrimage site for the year, and that provided OMV with a unique opportunity to draw attention and participation in the pilgrimage to Boston for their Jubilee celebrations. We developed a campaign strategy around this year with a dedicated landing page, Google Ads, and other channels to encourage their audience to get involved in their events and visit Boston.
