The Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging (SWCAA) provides essential support for older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities. Their programs help community members navigate complex systems such as Medicare, home care services, and long-term support. However, their previous website made it difficult for visitors to find these critical resources. SWCAA partnered with Cornershop Creative to redesign their site and create a clear, accessible digital hub for the people who rely on their services.
Our team focused on transforming a large, content-heavy website into an intuitive and easy-to-navigate experience. We rebuilt the site using WordPress Gutenberg blocks, giving the SWCAA team a flexible, modern editing environment. To support long-term consistency, we also created a custom Global Styles library and a set of reusable content modules. These tools allow staff to quickly update pages while maintaining a professional and cohesive design across the entire site.
Improving navigation was another key priority. We streamlined the site structure and designed layouts that highlight SWCAA’s most important resources, including their Aging Answers navigation and grant opportunities. The updated site also makes it easier for visitors to locate programs such as Community Options and Elders, which help older adults maintain independence and access support services. With a cleaner layout and simplified navigation, users can now find the information they need faster—especially during stressful or time-sensitive situations.
While our team handled the design framework and custom development, SWCAA played an active role in migrating their extensive resource library. We supported their efforts through training sessions and collaborative reviews, helping their staff build confidence in managing the new system. Today, SWCAA has a high-performance, accessible website that empowers their team to update resources easily and continue delivering critical support to their community.
