Cornershop has partnered with the Coalition for Children, Youth & Families (CCYF) for years, supporting several of the program sites under their umbrella through a range of projects. More recently, that partnership grew into an ongoing SEO retainer focused on the Wisconsin Family Connections Center (WiFCC), a resource hub serving adoptive families, birth parents, and adoptees across the state.
When CCYF found itself with a shorter-than-expected timeline to put grant funding to use for WiFCC, the team came back to Cornershop for guidance on how to invest it in a way that would move the needle across the site and its promotional channels alike.
Turning Retainer Insights Into a Focused Action Plan
Cornershop led with a set of recommendations grounded in opportunities already identified through the SEO retainer. From there, the team scoped a focused project spanning design, development, and content, all delivered in a single, coordinated push rather than spread across months.
Rebuilding the Site Around the People Who Use It
The work started with user experience. WiFCC’s homepage got a full design refresh, and Cornershop reorganized the site’s content around its many audiences, building new hubs for families and caregivers and for youth and adoptees. That restructuring helps the wide range of people relying on WiFCC, from families raising adopted children to prospective adopters, birth parents exploring their options, and adoptees themselves, find the right guidance faster.
Cornershop also improved the flow and organization of the resource library with clearer categorization and better filtering, and rebuilt the events calendar so visitors can search by category, region, and format. The WiFCC team also came away with a much easier system to manage behind the scenes.
Building Content That Ranks and Actually Helps People
Content is where this project really picked up speed. Cornershop built four new authoritative pillar posts and optimized twelve key pages for SEO and GEO, delivering a volume of work and pace of turnaround well beyond what a standard SEO retainer workflow allows. It replaced incremental month-over-month progress with a concentrated push that moved the needle fast.
The team also converted a batch of PDF resources with strong keyword ranking potential into on-page content, a move that improved the user experience and gave that content a real shot at ranking in search. Alongside the content work, Cornershop redesigned two email newsletter templates and wrote a new welcome series for each, turning first-time sign-ups into stronger probabilities for ongoing engagement.
An Ad Grant Audit That Opened the Door to a Bigger Partnership
Cornershop also took a thorough look at WiFCC’s existing Google Ad Grant account, producing a full audit and strategy for turning missed opportunities into real growth. That audit became the basis for an expanded partnership: CCYF brought Google Ad Grant management in-house with Cornershop and grew their retainer to cover both SEO and Google Ads going forward.
The team also extended some of this work beyond WiFCC itself, improving and expanding the resource content on wiadopt.org so prospective adoptive families have easier access to the same trusted information.
A Short Timeline, a Long List of Wins
This project stood out for how much ground it covered without losing focus, and for how naturally it built on years of trust between the two teams. In a short window, WiFCC came away with a modernized site, a stronger content foundation, and a clearer digital strategy. CCYF came away with even more confidence in deepening their engagement with Cornershop.
It’s the kind of outcome Cornershop aims for on every project: real, immediate wins for the community a site serves, built on a foundation that keeps paying off long after launch.
